Rick Goodhand has worked behind the
scenes for the Forest Minor Ball Association for
decades, doing everything from coaching and fundraising
to helping to maintain diamonds.
He has been involved with Forest Minor
Ball since 1990 and was the first president of the
organization.
A 'hands on' volunteer, he is out every
spring at the diamonds, rolling, spreading new dirt and
planting grass seed. During the season he can often be
found cutting the infield and maintaining the base
paths. He also does the scheduling of umpires and
arranging for the diamond lining.
Goodhand has worked tirelessly finding
sponsors to help finance capital projects and the
purchasing of new equipment. He has also developed a
reputation as a patient coach who teaches children the
value of sportsmanship
