Brittany Lewis
Brittany is a graduate
of St. Clair Secondary School. During her high
school athletic career she captured nine all-Ontario
medals - three gold and five silver in track and field
and silver in basketball.
Brittany represented Canada at the 2009 IAAF World Youth
Games (17 and under) in Italy. She would place
11th in the 400 metres. At the 2010 World youth
Olympics in Singapore, Brittany was fourth in the 400
metres (she was the first North American and top
Canadian finisher in any track and field event).
Brittany volunteered as a scorer for volleyball and
basketball games. She was an organizer for the
Native Youth Symposium and has helped with a sports
program and mini pow-wow at Hillside Elementary School.
Brittany was the sole Olympic torch carrier through
Aamijiwnaang First Nation. Brittany is attending
Michigan State University.
Danielle Girard
Danielle is a graduate of
St. Christopher Secondary School. During her high
school athletic career, Danielle competed at teh
all-Ontario championships both as an individual and team
member. A bronze was claimed with the girls hockey
team and a fourth place result with the senior soccer
team. A fourth and fifth place result was record
in the shot put.
Danielle has received numerous athletic and academic
awards. She was awarded the Colin Hood OFSSA
School Sport Award. Principal's Award for
outstanding achievement, the Stefanko Award - Lambton
County Academics and Athletics, as well as the honour
rool for a 90 per cent average or higher. Danielle
is attending Queen's University.
